Tangent's Pack Mentality Season 1: A New beginning

He noticed that Jackson had a decent sized cut above his eye, with a couple of bruises, and a black eye and  welcomed Jackson in with open arms and said, "Come in.  I was just about to head out into the woods.  What is going on?"

Jackson was taken aback by these words of welcome, and replied "My Dad is beating on my mom again." He paused and started to cry.

"How often does this happen?" asked Rick

"About once every month.", Tears and blood dripped down his face " but it never has been this bad. Our campsite is site C2. Please hurry."

At this Rick gave Jackson a towel to put on his cut to stop the bleeding, climbed into his truck and turned on his lights.  "stay here" with his taser in hand.  He headed on to the campsite.  When he got there he couldn't believe his eyes.  His mom was battered and bloodied as the dad continued.  Rick hopped out of his truck instantly and ran toward Jacksons dad.  He shouted "Hey!Stop it!"  He got right into the mass took out his handcuffs and talked into his radio "Domestic dispute.  Site C2 Lewis Lake campground.  Medical is requested. Police needed for transfer."

"Medical and local police are notified, they are around 10 minutes out."

"Thank You!"

  

The dad was not giving up easily, so Rick pulled out his Taser and tased him , and jumped on top of him pinning  him down and handcuffing him.  After that Rick escorted Jacksons dad to the back of his trucks cab.   Rick then instantly drew his attention to Jacksons mom.  She was sobbing and rick Cradled her Allowing her to calm down.  He then took of his coat and sweatshirt and then his t shirt that he had underneath and told Jacksons mother to Apply pressure to the Hefty wound that she had on her head.  Blood continued to seep down her face from cuts that were less deep.  The Blood had started to stain the coating of a couple of inches of snow on the ground.

Rick took a look around to see what was around the area.   There was a decent sized tent, a cooler, and a tent, then he looked next to where She was sitting.  He noticed several beer bottles all over, one of which was broken, and he pieced together a case.  The dad had several beers and ended up getting drunk because of the storm system that was coming through.  When he (Jackson) started to come out of tent, his mom probably told him to go back inside because she knew that something was different this time when he started to drink.  His thoughts were disturbed when he heard the sirens and started to see the shadows of the lights.  

He also started to notice that Jacksons mom was starting to calm down, so he started to ask her some questions.  "so, What is your name?"

Jacksons mother  responded, still somewhat bloody and shaken up "Darlene"

Rick responded, "Well I am Rick and I am here to help you.  Your son came to me to report what was going On he is-" He turned because he heard the sound of a lock hoping and the door opening.  "ok at my cabin." He trailed off and added,  "I will be back shortly".  He started to run to catch up to her husband.

Meanwhile Daniel and quint were waiting for Rick for a time when they heard some annoying sounds.  Because they were curious about what was going on, they sniffed the air and smelled fear, and blood.  Daniel yelped "Rick!"They looked at each other paused for a moment and started running following the scent trail. Daniel Howled to call for reinforcements and Bramble, Raven,  and stephanie came sprinting towards them and they met shortly.  They stopped and Daniel told Stephanie to stay behind and get spike so that they could go.  The party then started taking off towards the sound of the sirens. They Followed the edge of Lewis Lake, their paws getting slightly wet from the water on the shoreline.  Soon enough they reached the edge of their territory.  

They then turned when they reached the end of the territory and went around the campgrounds, following their noses when they saw some other humans coming out of some cars with lights on the top.  They stopped running and followed quietly behind those humans, staying as quiet as possible.  Daniel picked up a scent and signaled with his tail to go to the left at the end of the road.  They saw a larger car with more humans coming out of it with a thing that they had never seen before.  

They turned and then the scent that Daniel picked up grew stronger too a point to where they felt like they were right on top off it.  Raven looked up and there was a human with his hands in some shiny human thing.  Raven and Stephan Jumped up and knocked him down.  Bramble and Quint jumped in and helped Raven and Stephan pin the human down and they let out a mighty howl.

At this point the snow was coming down at a rate that was hard to understand

Rick was chasing after Darlene's husband (he assumed now ex husband) and he stopped to catch his breath when he heard Two large howls.  He followed the sound and sure enough he recognized Daniel and Bramble, but saw one wolf that he didn't recognize.  Then he thought back to the sign that he saw outside of the cabin.  He thought to himself So this is what they wanted to talk about.  He said "thanks Daniel, you're a life saver.  I will meet you at the cabin"

Daniel responded with a curt nod, and then he told the other Wolves that they could get off of the human that was pinned on the ground.  Daniel saw that Rick had left escorting the human in the hand cuffs to the closest police car and Rick said to the police officer to take him to the jail house.  The copped nodded in agreement, and just like that everyone split off to their different directions.  Spike and  Bramble headed back to their tribes camp, and Daniel, Raven, and Quint headed to where they left the mark.  

Rick went back to Darlene and told here that the medics will be taking her to the nearest hospital, and that he will be there with Jackson soon.  Rick hopped into his truck and drove off to his cabin.

When he got their he stepped out of his vehicle, headed inside, grabbed Jackson, and told him to get inside the truck and described that they were going to the hospital so that he could be with his mom.  Jackson nodded his head still a little distraught from what he watched and took part in.  He headed into the truck and watched from the window as he saw that Rick was waiting for something, or someone.

Soon Jackson noticed some animals coming out of the woods and realized that those animals were wolves.  He saw three of them.

Daniel opened the conversation, "Thank you for meeting with us.  We have a bit of a formality issue at our camp."

Rick answered, "I kind of figured, I was on my way when a kid came to me at my cabin. What is this issue?  I am assuming that This has something to do with it" he pointed to Raven.  Raven was taken aback and embarrassed.

Daniel answered "Yes, Because of this storm, my camp has a couple of wolves from the complex just east of us, and they are going to be snowed in for a while because of this weather.  We have discussed them staying with us at least until the snow melts. so we just came to let you know that there are a couple more wolves around our complex"

Rick answered, "Thanks twice over, and I appreciate you coming to let me know.  They can stay."

"Ok,  Wish the kid good luck."

Rick glanced over at Jackson and noticed that he was relatively surprised and scared that he was talking to the wolves.  "Will do.  I'm off to the hospital with him."

Daniel turned and started to walk away then he turned around.  "Just so you know, he would make a great beta. "

Rick chuckled at this and said, "Yeah I kind of already started his training." 

At this they parted ways, and Rick took that statement that Daniel said to heart.  Could it be that he could be the one to take my place after I retire he thought to himself.   He got into the truck, turned on his lights and they headed to the hospital where his mother was going to be taken care of.  

There was now around 5 inches of snow on the ground from the snowstorm, and everything had settled down for a moment.

Raven woke up the next day to see that there was now a foot of snow on the ground and accidentally - On - purpose nudged George and told him to meet him at the front of the camp in about 15 minutes.  He headed out to meet with Spike and asked if George could train with Bramble today, and Stephan asked "If I was to say yes, What do you think we should do?"

Raven replied "Well since this is George and my first time training here, I suggest we should go through the border?"

Stephan said, "Bramble could use a refresher, and I feel like it would help the tribe continue controlling the borders.  I will go and talk to bramble to see what he thinks."

Stephan trotted off to talk to Bramble and when he got to him he said, "How do you feel about training with George and Raven today?"

Bramble moaned jokingly, "Do we have too? Just kidding Yeah of course that would be great!"  He jumped out of his sleeping quarters at this and Spike playfully smacked him across the face, and Bramble returned the favor. They then headed out to the front of camp.

They met with Raven and George and then they headed out on border patrol.  

Stephan lead the way and set a decent pace and started, "Well, Since this is Raven and George's first time training here we are going to take them on a border patrol so they know where a majority of the training while they are here.  The first spot that we are going to be stopping is the pit.-"

George, "How did that take place, and what goes -"

George was cut off by Raven explaining that they will find out.

"it should be coming up here on the left.  This is where the battle training takes place.-"

Bramble playfully swiped at George who fell, and got up and swiped back, landing a blow on the side of his face.

Raven jumped between the two betas and told them to stop.

Stephen then continued on the tour of the territory.  They then headed towards the lake on the East side and followed it around.   All the while, Bramble and george seemed to be getting along quite well.    Every once in a while Stephan and Bramble clawed the tribes logo into trees, and gave out scent markers.  They followed that around and then turned away from the lake and Stephan started to whisper "Over on that side of the boarder is Tyler's tribe (he pointed with his tail).  They continued the border patrol and it was quite quiet.  They turned left to follow the lake.  Then turned left where Stephan signaled with his tail, fur standing on edge, "Over there is the Carlton tribes territory."  The party continued on its patrol around the borders and then approached the road and turned left again, to continue their patrol.  They eventually finished the patrol, and Bramble, George, and Raven headed back to there dens.  They cleaned up, and headed out for dinner.  By this time there had to have been a foot and a half of snow on the ground.
