Tangents Pack Mentality: Season 1

Quint replied "that was me."  The tension was real. "Sorry to arrive here so late we have a message from Heart Lake. "
the voice replied, "How should we know that you really have a message from that complex?  IF so Why didn't you tell it to Rick.  Is it just for us, or is it the complex?"
"Both, But I didn't know that Rick was real. We need to speak to your leader."
"Before you come to the camp, tell me your name."
"Quint. Yours?  How can I trust you if you do not have a name."
"Stephanie.  Now lets go." At that the group headed out together towards Daniels Camp.

They walked together for a while and then Stephanie Said "stay here, Hey all You can come out now."  Quint George and Raven were surprised by this move.  Stephanie turned towards the group and knew they were confused so she explained "Things are extremely tense around our complex so we have to be extremely cautious with visitors, especially at this time a night. "

Quint dipped his head in agreement. "We have the same thing going on at heart lake.  That is why we are coming to talk to you all.  Our complex has a possible cause and we want to discuss what we found."

Then, after that sentence their were four wolves from Stephanie's patrol.  It was hard to tell what they looked like because it was dark.  Quint could here them whispering, talking about what was going on.   Then before Quint knew it, they were on each side, and in front and behind the group.  They  continued to walk and then stephanie said to the group, "We are almost to our camp.  there is a bramble wall, with an entry way coming up pretty-"  They were interrupted by a small wolf no more than 7 moons old who said, "These wolves smell funny!"

Stephanie Whispered "Yeah Bramble. its because they are from a different complex than us.  but please be quiet because everyone is sleeping."

Bramble turned and bounded away.  Stephinie said "Thats Bramble, hes one of our newest Betas, in case you didn't notice.  I reccomend that you duck, because our camp entry is super small. I will get Daniel."

Quint saw her take off to the left and then disappear behind A curtain of vines.  Then shortly after she came out and signaled with her tail to tell them to come.  Quint ran towards the vine entry to what he could only assume was the leaders den.  When he walked in he heard a deep and Authoritarian voice say, "Come in.  I here you have something to tell me."

From what Quint could make out there were multiple rooms in the leaders den, one of which had a pine needle bed, which he could tell was the leaders sleeping quarters. Interrupted from figuring out what the den looked like, a tail tapped his backside.  "Well...?

Quint replied, "Oh yeah, I bring A message from the Heart lake complex, across the road and over the mountain.  We have a bunch of tension around the lake as well."

Daniel replied, "And."

Quint said, "We think we have found a cause of it.  It has something to do with the parks Humans, and they seem to be continuing to make advances into our borders.  Have you had the same thing?"

Daniel answered, "Yeah but we think we have it under control."

Quint said, "Well there is more than just that.  There is also less prey because of the humans, because they keep scaring the prey away."

Daniel nodded, "that makes a lot of sense. So we need to figure out something to do.  Go get some rest we will talk more about this tomorrow morning. Stephanie could you come in please?"

Stephanie entered the den and said "What do you need?"

Daniel replied,"Could you please tell Bramble and Spike to make our visitors a nest in the visitors den. Also get Shaquille and Stephen to keep watch in case they try something." He turned to Quint, "Sorry but it is just how we do things around here, Extra tension always results in extra measures."  Quint nodded his head in agreement.

Quint left the den and got George and Raven and told them that they where going to be spending the night.  Bramble and Stephan came towards them and said "Follow us."  They started walking towards the back of camp.  From what quint could tell it was a Really nice camp.  Laid out well.  The dens were spaced out nicely, Vines provided privacy, Well Fallen Trees with brambles and sticks kept the dens dry.  Sooner than he realized they arrived at their den.  George and Raven were set up at the far side of the den, and Quint was on the other side.  They then fell asleep.

The next morning was really nice, although The ground was really frosty from the dew that came in the night, There was also a little bit of a bite to the air.  Quint was the first one up and started to walk outside when Stephan jumped up and Stopped him and said, "Good morning, What could I help you with?"

Quint replied, "Is it ok if I would be able to get some food?

Stephan answered, "Not at the moment, the Fresh kill pile hasn't been replenished yet. The morning hunting patrol should be coming in shortly."

Quint said ok and headed back into the den when he heard Daniel callout to him saying "Come on over, we need to talk stuff through."


Quint ran across the camp towards Daniel who had a glorious coat of Gray fur, with White specks around his eyes (It was hard for him to pick out the Details the night before). Daniel said "Like what?"

"Well, first off we have some weather coming in from the west and you guys might end up getting snowed in, Other than that we may need to talk through a potential solution for The probelams that the humans are causing."

In the middle of the words that Daniel spoke, the wind picked up.  Quint was seriously confused at how Daniel knew there was weather was coming in.  he started to run towards Daniel and when he got there he nodded his head in greeting.  "So do you got any Ideas?"

Daniel Answered, "Well, I think we need to meet with the other leaders.  As to an idea, I believe that just deal with it for a while and then if nothing changes, then we need to call a Gathering with all of the leaders from all of the other complexes-"

"All Five?"

Daniel said, "Yep."

"God bless The packs of old... So your saying that there maybe some weather coming in? How bad are you talking?"

"Well it seems like The weather is going to be the first of many snowstorms.  This is going to be a long Leafbare..."

Quint replied, "What!  But this is not our main complex.  So what are going to do to make this work?"

At this the first snowflakes started to fall.  After they did start to fall, Daniel led Quint into his den.  "Well first off, we will need to talk to Rick To let him know that we have three extras in our pack.  And he could help us out."

At this Daniel told Stephinie "Your in charge for a while."  and she nodded her head as if to say yes.

At this Daniel and Quint ran out of the camp and then turned towards the Human Campground that was closest to their camp, Which was where Rick and Jackson where talking (For those who don't Recall).  They approached the Cabin and then turned towards one of the trees, and Daniel Scratched the bark off of one of the trunks In the shape of a circle, as if it was a sign for Rick.  They then turned around and then ran back towards the camp.

When they got back to the camp Raven and George were up in the clearing and grabbing some Fresh-kill for a meal.  Quint joined them and told them what was going on.  At this time the snowflakes were coming down so hard it seemed like it was a blizzard.  They finished their meal and headed into their den and took a nap.

When they woke up a few hours later it seemed there was a tail length of snow on the ground.  George and Raven headed to the leaders den.  Stephanie was standing Guard. and Raven said "Could we talk to Daniel?"

Stephanie replied, "I don't know why not" She called to Daniel. "Raven and George are her."

Daniel answered "Come in."

Raven and George entered in the den Hesitating at First but then pushed on.  They heard Daniels voice say,  "How can I help you?"

Raven replied, "I heard that there is a chance of a lot of snow, there is already a tail length on the ground.   How is this going to work?"

"Rick is going to be here, not in the camp, but outside, so we could figure out what to do.  I want you three to be there so he could see what the concern is."

"Is there anyway we could help out to pass the time that we are here?"

"Not until we hear what to do from Rick, so for now your den will be the visitors den, and you can't really do anything.  Sorry about this situation, but thats how it works between the lines of the code that we have here."

Raven Replied, "Ok.  I just feel bad that we are taking your prey."

"It is ok.  Who knows, pretty soon you guys might end up training George with Bramble and Stephan."

At this Daniel noticed that it was starting to get dark outside.

Daniel continued, "It's starting to get dark, so, Rick should be here soon."

Raven and George Grabbed some dinner and headed back to their den.  This time they were joined by Stephan, Bramble, and Quint.  Stephan opened the conversation "So I hear you guys may be here for a while yet?"

Raven replied, "Yep, Depending on what Rick says, we will be training with you guys and hunting for the pack.  Daniel told us that we would be Joining your training session."

Bramble Piped up, "Really.  That would be Great!"

George joined the conversation for the first time. "I think I will be the first Beta from Heart lake to train with members of a different Complex."  He puffed out his chest with pride, but that pride was short lived when Raven interrupted,

"Don't get to excited."

Rick was arriving at the rangers cabin when he noticed something towards the bottom of the tree trunk.  It was claw marks drawn in a circle, which he knew symbolized one of the packs around the area, so he headed inside his office to do some research, and sure enough it symbolized Daniels tribe , and it didn't have a line through it so he knew that it was just a formality issue, where as if it had a line through it, it meant that there was a Medical breakout within the tribe, and then if there were multiple lines through it it would mean that there was going to be a battle (and the directions of the lines meant where).  At this he heard a knock on the door. He shuffled his papers around and went to the door.  He answered, the door slowly, and jumped backwards when he recognized the face.  It was Jackson, and he seemed very upset.
