Ballpark Review Wrigley Field

Wrigley Panorama
Now it is time to review my home Park, Wrigley Field.  Not only does it have history, but it has charm and an atmosphere that is different than any other ballpark I have been to.   The players and coaches also give out a lot of handouts to the bleachers, so lets just dive in.

Overview

  • Field Surface - Grass
  • Type of stadium - Open
  • Occupancy - 41, 160

Easy To get to (0 - 3)
For this area I give wrigley a 2 because even though it is out of the City , it is easy to find and there are plenty of signs telling people how to get to the park.  For me it is only like 2 miles off the highway.

Parking (1-5)
Parking at wrigley is wrigley is very expensive  and a majority of the parking is a pretty far ways away from the ballpark, so I give parking at wrigley a 2.  However, to avoid the fees, park on Clark past W Belle Plain Avenue.  Even though it is a bit of a hike, it is free parking.  There is also a buss stop by there as well.

Food Choices (Scale of 1 - 5)
The Food at wrigley is ok.  There is really not a lot of variety at the ballpark.  It is only your typical ballpark food so I give this area a 2 because it is good.  They also have Girodano's pizza for all you deep dish fans out there.  Something that is worth noting in this area is the fact that everything is 25% Off before the game starts.

Family Friendliness (Scale of 1 - 5)
This is a tough area to rate because of a couple of reasons.  First off, there is a ton of beer that gets sold there.  The people sitting next to us ordered 3 rounds for a group of four people.  People that go to this park also can be a bit colorful when it comes to language. Except for these couple of things, There are a lot of handouts at the games.  The coaches empty pockets full to the fans, but in the bleachers.   Despite the negative things, I give wrigley a 3 out of 5 because of the amount of souvenirs that get given out, because who doesn't want to go home with a game used baseball right?

Architecture (1-10)
View from our seats
Wrigley is a bit different than other ballparks when it comes to architecture.  It is very oldstyle when it comes to design.  There is a lot of steel, the Facade is gorgeous, don't even get me started on the ivy in the outfield.  The Video boards are placed very strategically with old school lettering like the hand run scoreboard.  so I give this ballpark a 10.

Amenities (1-10)
This ballpark is kind of lacking when it comes to bathrooms.  But it is better than last year.  So for I give wrigley a 3. :(
Its a Night game

Atmosphere (1-10)
I love Wrigley's Atmosphere so much.  Not only does it have charm, it has noise, energy, Handouts, people treat each other with respect (if you are not a cardinals/white sox/Pirates fan).  You can feel the years that this ballpark has seen when you first walk to your seats.  The Fans here don't need any signs to tell them to get loud either.  So I give this area a 13.

Entertainment (1-15)
One of the big things that I look for in a ballpark is was I entertained, and to honest I was more than entertained.  Wrigley doesn't need any sausage races, big video board games, and fireworks to entertain people.  You just need to go there and get to know people and just hang out.  so for that I give this ballpark a 15

Appearance (1-15)
14.  The only reason why I am knocking of a couple points is because the concourse could use a renovation, but Ricketts is already on that.  The bathrooms can also be kind of dirty but that can be fixed.
