True Blue Premier part 3

A crowd had gathered outside of the empty warehouse because of the amount of police presence on the block. More and more people started to show up until a siren was heard. The crowds looked around because the siren did not sound like anything that they had heard before.
About five minutes had passed and the people that were looking around, trying to find the source of the siren, began to see what it was on the side of the vehicle. On the door, in fluorescent outlined letters, and black fill within the letters read "Bomb Squad."
The police that were on site slowly began to shoo people away from the warehouse. More police were called to set up a three-block perimeter around the warehouse. The peanut gallery began to stress out and started stampeding away from the Building.
Inside, Officer James, Grigsby, and the sheriff were examining the wiring up close and personally. The sheriff told the two officers to go outside and guide the Bomb squad in through the police blockades that had been formed.
When the two officers stepped outside, pretty much the entire radius was cleared and locked down. The armored vehicle was guided in with no trouble at all. The group of people that were inside the vehicle moved quickly and hustled into the building.
When the people got inside the building, the sheriff briefed them as they were running through the building saying, "We have an office with C4 lining it. It seems to be set on a timer with a remote detonator. But I am not quite sure." Just as they got into the office, the bomb squad officers told the sheriff to leave the building and work crowd control. Without hesitating the sheriff backed off asking if they needed anything, just to be polite.
The bomb squad walked into the room, and carefully examined the bomb. There were around four cables. One led to a screen that was red, another one lead to a battery (colored orange), another lead to a cable (colored green), and one final one went out to the Surrounding C4. Studying the power system carefully the team of Bomb squad members worked together trying to ID the type of system.
What seemed like a half an hour, the team decided to cut the wires that connected to the battery. The group winced and then turned away as the lead proceeded to cut the wires. Several heartbeats passed, and just before the lead cut the wires, the unthinkable happened.
The room erupted in a flash of light, and a loud thud followed. The three other members tried to run away leaving the lead, but they were too slow. They hit the deck hard and all around them the building started to fail. Blood and shrapnel from the desk were spread all over the place. Shrapnel hit the Three officers, and the sheriff who was hiding behind some barrels. At the initial flash The sheriff sprinted and eventually got close to exiting the building when he was hit by several pieces of shrapnel. He fell at the initial impact, got up, stumbled out of the building, and fell down.

Outside the three block perimeter, people were watching, the building, hoping that whatever was going inside the building was being resolved. Then without warning, the crowd heard a loud thud and then a ton of smoke. Officer Grigsby and officer James raced toward the building. As they got closer they saw the sheriff stumble out, looking awful. They turned and waved the fire truck and the ambulance in, and continued forward at a full sprint.
In no time at all, The officers, fire truck, and ambulance arrived at the building. Officer Grigsby paused to check the sheriff's pulse, and picked him up and carried him to the paramedics. He then turned back and headed inside, Gun pointed and looked around inside. What he saw was an absolute mess, along with a few small fires around the building. Barrels were no longer stacked, and what was left was bloody shrapnel. He continued forward, and pressed on, Fearing what he would find further inside.
He continued, moving forward. He found three bloodied bodies at the door of the office, He checked for pulses on all three, and none of them were alive. He got further into the office and he saw what was left of the lead. He looked up and saw that all the evidence that was found inside was disintegrated. He turned and exited the building, his partner next to him, upset that there was no imagery that was salvaged. The Forensics crew came in after all the fires were put out, and did what they could.
The two officers sat down on the curb across the street looking at the building, Or, what was left of it. They turned to each other and talked about what had happened. They then turned around and headed back to the office.

The next day, the two officers walked into the office, and things were different. There was an entire glass bored with Kevin's face on it, with strings leading to the different places where he had been. There was a map looking at the biking route that he had taken when he had gotten snatched under one of the magnets holding the images up.
Officer Grigsby and James were called up to Detective Ryan's office to talk about what happened on the days prior to the explosion. Officer James was the first to enter into the office, followed by Officer Grigsby. They shook hands with the detective. They then sat down and Detective Ryan opened the conversation. "So you two were inside of the building when the sheriff decided to call the bomb squad were you not?" The two officers nodded, and he continued. "Do you recall what was inside?"
Officer James nodded. "As a matter a fact I took a picture before we left. Here, take a look."
The Detective took his phone. "Hmm. From what I can tell, this is a lot bigger than something that we normally deal with. What are those images of?"
"I believe that they are for a power plant near here. I don't really know why they are there, but I do know that something big is happening as we speak."
"If this is true, we may need more resources than what we have. This has potential to be a major terror threat. I will call the FBI so we would be able to stop this threat before it gets any bigger."
With that, the officers left to head to the hospital to check on the sheriff. When they got there, they found out that the sheriff was really close to death. They went to pay their respects and then headed back to the office. When they got there, they were turned away because they had had a really crazy last couple of days.
In the office, Detective Ryan was doing some major investigation. When he was doing some research, he found out some new information. Someone had entered the building between the time of the kidnapping and the discovery of the bomb. Someone 6 foot 5, White, broad shouldered, with a Tigers hat. Fast forwarding throughout the day, about 30 minutes later, That same person walked out of the building. Picked up by that same sedan that was spotted the day of the kidnapping.
The detective called in an analyst and he ran a program to identify the suspect after he blew up the image. 10 minutes passed and they had a name. Lewis Donavon. Aged 25. Blue eyes, Blonde hair. Weighs 187.
Detective Ryan printed out the file that they found on him and put his face on the board.

Kevin was being held inside a room chained to a chair from his ankle, his hands free so that he could eat the food that was being fed to him. On occasion, one of his captors walked in checking on him, and taking care of him. It had been three or four days since he had been taken, and he was starting to get to know some of his captors.
The leader was named Calvin, his right hand man (the person that shot him) was named Jackson, his left hand woman was named Roxanne. The person below the two levels was named Lewis (The dirty worker), and the person on the next level down was named Andreas (he was close to Kevin's age), and then the driver was named Dwayne.
Kevin was trying his best to get on the good side of at least one of the people involved in the unit, and his main target was Andreas. In the few times that they had been talking, they started to discover that they had a lot in common. The main reason why Andreas was involved in the unit was because his parents, Calvin and Roxanne were the leaders.
On one of the days, Lewis and Dwayne drove off to clean up the mess that had been left behind at the warehouse. They came back sooner than was expected. From what was told to him by Andreas when he came by with his food later that afternoon, he found out that Lewis and Dwayne had messed up. Andreas was incredibly broad, but specific enough for Kevin to figure out what had gone wrong. They had not cleaned up the mess. Lewis just wired up the office, not taking down any of the mess.
Later that day, there was a loud bang that was heard, and Andreas came rushing in, telling Kevin to get down. Shouting echoed around the building. It sounded like their was a series argument going on in the other room, and according to Andreas the situation turned to a "hot" situation. He explained saying that means that firearms and weapons had been pulled.
Shortly after the arguments, Lewis came rushing into the room and tried to find a hiding spot. Calvin fired his weapon twice, missing both times. Giving up, Lewis, turned and faced Calvin, begging for mercy. Calvin cocked his weapon, and aimed. One final shot was fired. Kevin and Andrea, who were hiding under the table eventually saw the body slump down, revealing a bullet hole in Lewis' head. Blood eventually started to spill on the floor. Calvin called out to Roxxane, "We need to clean this up."
Roxanne came quickly, dragging the body away, and then came back a few moments later to clean up the blood on the floor. Seeing Andreas and Kevin under the table, she asked "you boys OK?" At least somewhat sounding like she cared.
They both nodded in shock, and then stood up. Andreas left and told Kevin that he would get him something to drink.

Meanwhile, at the police station, the detective was collecting information on Lewis and looking at the security camera footage. About 15 minutes later, Detective Ryan put out an APV on the Sedan that showed up twice. The vehicle was a 2014 Dodge Charger that was silver with the licence plate number EST 456. Five minutes later the vehicle was picked up on the Automated License Plate Numbering system going out of Grand Rapids.
Thinking like a criminal Detective Ryan meditated on what spotting that car would mean. He came to a conclusion that no one liked. The person of interest was dead and they were disposing of the body.
Thinking quickly, Detective Ryan made a call to the Grand Rapids police department. He got a hold of the head of the department and started to make a conversation.
"Hello. This is Detective Ryan over at the East Grand Rapids Department of Public Safety. We have picked up a hit on a car that we are tracking heading out of Downtown Grand Rapids. We suspect that there is a person of interest that is dead inside of the car. That car was used in a kidnapping four days ago, and this is our best shot at reaching a conclusion. Want to work together on this?"
"OK. Lets see what we can do. I think we we has a squad car in the area."
"I don't think that this is the best Idea for this situation. They have one of our people. A kid that is only 15 in their custody, and if we bust them, the kid may die. How about putting someone undercover meeting them where they are going?"
"And. Any ideas where?"
"I believe that they are headed to some place to dump the body. Somewhere by the arena?"
"Sounds like an idea, how should we attack this?"
"Do you have any detectives that are good at working under cover?"
"Well there is Detective Ramirez. He is good at blending into different situations. What exactly are we looking at here?"
"We are working with the FBI investigating a potential terror threat."
"That is pretty serious. I believe that you will need authorization from the FBI to run an operation. Could you send for them."
"OK. Could you hold on a second?"
"Sure. I will also get Detective Ramirez and our team over here."
Detective Ryan put the Police department on hold, and called out to the floor. "Could we get the FBI and officers in the conference room."
"On our way."
Detective Ryan was waiting in the conference room when Tony, Jack, Troy, Louis, and Hector walked into the room.
Tony was the head representative from the FBI that was on location. He was the first to walk in. Detective Ryan addressed him. "We have the Grand Rapids police department on the phone right now. I am going to be putting them on speaker so we could all hear what they have to say. Just to give you a brief overview, we are working on an operation to get Kevin out. Any questions? No? Good"
Detective Ryan took the Grand Rapids police department off hold, "Your on with Tony, Jack, Troy, Louis, and Hector from the FBI. Shall we draft out a plan?"
"Yes of course. On my end we have Detective Ramirez and me, Sheriff John, of the Grand Rapids PD. OK so I have briefed Officer Ramirez on what is going on. On your end?"
"Yep."
Sheriff John resumed, "So here is what I am thinking, we put my Detective in undercover. What person has been killed on the other side?"
Tony piped up, "We have Intel that says that the units person that does the dirty work has been killed for not being thorough in the cleaning of the warehouse that blew up earlier today."
"OK. So we will put Ramirez undercover as James Rodrick who is an Ex military weapons designer, because Ramirez has history in this area. Do you agree?"
Ramirez answered, "Yes I did three years in Iraq. So I am familiar?"
Tony nodded inside the conference room intrigued then asked, "How do we get him inside?"
"Airlift. We have helicopters at our station."
"OK. For a back story, He got discharged for inappropriate conduct with the weaponry?"
"OK." The sheriff responded.
"Are we good?" Asked Detective Ryan looking at Tony.
"Yeah but contact?"
The Sheriff answered "Very limited. A Small com that is barely recognizable by machines. I will be on the other end during the day, then could we have Tony on during the night?"
Tony answered, "OK. Now how are we going to know when to move in?"
Detective Ryan answered, "Have a team on the outside, waiting on a safety word which should be something like lets go, If your detective says it?"
Tony answered, "OK. Lets do this. Load up the chopper, and hook up the Coms."
***
About 15 minutes passed and the operation was in full swing. The analysts at East Grand Rapids were tracking the vehicles movements, and much to everyones surprise, The prediction of where the vehicle was headed seemed to be coming more and more true. The chopper was going towards the vehicle at a safe enough distance to where it wasn't getting noticed.
A few more moments passed, and the helicopter reached the area where the sedan was headed, dropped off Detective Ramirez at a park with plenty of time to spare. The chopper then took off and headed back to the police department in Grand Rapids. They checked Com's one last time, and then the mission was ago.
What seemed like an hour passed, and the vehicle arrived. The Driver, and Calvin climbed out of the car, and grabbed a bag from the trunk. The Detective said on com that they had arrived and continued to watch from a distance. After the body was dumped he started to creep towards the car. The FBI had been watching from satellite imagery.
Over time Ramirez accidentally on purpose ran into Calvin, and Calvin aggressively pushed him away. Ramirez backed away palms up and apologized. Calvin said, "Watch yourself bro. What do you want?"
"The question is, what do you want?"
"A lot of things. not you though" He punched Detective Ramirez, and Ramirez responded and fought back, Landing a couple of blows around Calvin's temple. Calvin fell. "Not bad eh?"
Calvin Wiped the blood off of his face, and then got up. "You've got some talent bro. Want to show me some more?" He smiled.
"OK." The detective punched him some more, and the driver pulled him away.
"I could use someone like you. Dwayne, get the bag."
and Just like that. Ramirez was taken.
The three arrived at the warehouse around 30 minutes later and Calvin sat Officer Ramirez down. "Whats your name sir?"
"James Rodrick."
"Where you from and what you doing here."
"I am a discharged veteran sir. I am looking for a job."
"What is a veteran like you doing here?"
"Looking for a job sir."
"We have one. Why should I trust you?"
"I sold schematics on the black market, resulting in a discharge."
"Nice. We could use someone with your background here. Someone, get this man some food."
Roxanne stood up, and got some bread and made a sandwich, gave it to James, and told him to take it to the room across the hall, where there seemed to be some movement. "I'll make you something else after you come back."
James Rodrick walked into the room, and saw a boy matching the description that he was given on the helicopter ride to where he met Calvin. He saw a napkin and grabbed a pen that he he had in his pocket and wrote a message as he was walking. On it was written: I am on your side. I am here to protect you."
Kevin looked down at the note, and then glanced up, and smiled. Finally I might be getting out of here.
