Pack Mentality S2 Part 7

They stood there looking at each other in silence, Dumbfounded by what they had just seen.  Then they turned to Rick, the bottom side of their jaws on the floor.  Rick stood there for a second and made eye contact for a moment, and then took off, racing to his ATV, rifle slung over his shoulder.  Seeing his action, Jackson followed at a brisk pace.  Calling back to the three wolves that were just standing there, "We'll be back shortly... I think, but you all might want to go back to your camps."  The wolves followed his direction and parted ways.

Jackson and Rick sped through the woods, the trees appearing as blurs, the leaves, branches barely visible.  Jackson had not moved this fast on an ATV since he arrived at Yellowstone.  It was exhilarating.

They arrived back at the station, about five minutes after they had left.  Jackson's hair was a mess from the wind, and as he pulled up, he saw Rick jump off his ATV as it was moving.  He looked like he landed awkwardly, but he saved it well.  He hobbled a little bit and took off running towards the door.  He opened the door and then slammed it shut.

Jackson was a little bit more cautious then Rick was.  He already got hurt badly earlier, and he did not want it to happen again.  He stepped off of his ATV, and then stalked towards the door.  He opened it slowly,  trying to not make a sound.  He peaked his head around the corner and saw Rick one hand on his phone, the other fumbling through a file cabinet.  Rick found something and pulled it out.

Jackson slid off his shoes and moved closer to see if he could get a better look at what he was doing.  He silently flipped the open end up and read "heart lake" on the folder.  He then set it down slowly and quietly.  Jackson then ran back to the couch.

Rick put the file away quietly, then pulled out a different file.  Jackson then went back over to the file cabinet and pulled out the Heart Lake file.  He fingered through the pages making note of every little detail.  One thing stood out- the first picture of a wolf was one that he had recognized from the vision earlier.
